Care that fits the way you live

Care That Fits a Fairfield County Day

Days in Fairfield County are often long. Many people commute by train, on I-95 or the Merritt Parkway, work in Stamford, Norwalk or New York, and get home after the hours most practices keep. Appointments run 6:00 PM – midnight ET. Evenings include Fridays and Sundays. A visit can happen after the train, after dinner, or after the children are asleep.

For Children, Teens, Adults and Older Adults

Michael sees children, adolescents, adults and older adults. For younger clients, a parent or guardian is part of the care, and evening visits leave room for school, sports and homework. College students home on break can be seen too, as long as they are physically in Connecticut at the time of each session. Care can also focus on what you are working through right now, such as worry, low mood, sleep or stress, without requiring a diagnostic label.

Towns We Serve

Every Town in the County

Care reaches every town in the region by secure video, with no parking, traffic or waiting room.

See every town

Care is available by telehealth in every Fairfield County town, including Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Wilton, Westport, Weston, Fairfield, Easton, Bridgeport, Stratford, Trumbull, Monroe, Shelton, Redding, Bethel, Danbury, Brookfield, Newtown, New Fairfield and Sherman. Whether you live on the shoreline or in the northern part of the county, the care is the same, and there is no parking, traffic or waiting room.

How Care Works

A full evaluation, then a plan you help design

Care begins with a full evaluation, 60 to 90 minutes, that looks at how your brain and body are working together: sleep, stress, attention, mood, health history and what you want to change. From there, you and Michael design a plan. It may include medication when it helps, supportive therapy, and lifestyle foundations like sleep, movement and nutrition, because these shape brain biology too.

A. Michael Crook, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed in Connecticut. If you have been searching for a psychiatrist in Fairfield County, it may help to know that in Connecticut a psychiatric nurse practitioner independently evaluates, diagnoses, prescribes medication and provides therapy. Michael's work starts from brain biology: your struggles aren't character flaws, and every brain can heal, grow and change.

Focus, Calm and Care After Hours

Three parts of the practice often matter most to Fairfield County families. Building Focus Without Stimulants describes non-stimulant ADHD care that strengthens focus and follow-through, paired with strategies for sleep, structure and movement. Lasting Calm, Built on Brain Biology describes anxiety and panic care without benzodiazepines, using non-addictive medication and nervous-system regulation skills for calm that lasts. Care That Fits Your Evening explains how evening telehealth keeps care from competing with your workday. No controlled substances are prescribed in this practice, by design.
